Other Creation science ministries
The following links are provided to ministries that I do not fully endorse as all are neo-evangelical, para-church ministries, support ecumenism to varying degrees, do not use the King James Bible consistently for Scripture references, and have varying underlying doctrinal issues. They are provided because they produce some good, helpful print and online resources supporting a literal interpretation of Genesis 1-11 and acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ as Creator and Redeemer.
To review the multitude of materials available and provide specific recommendations is beyond my ability. I encourage all to wisely, and selectively use the materials from theses ministries while evaluating all things against the Scriptures to see whether these things are so (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). Apart from my general reservations listed above, I will include specific warnings against some of the ministries where I deem additional warnings are necessary.
The ministries are listed in alphabetical order rather than any order of preference. The fact of their listing is an acknowledgment that I have personally benefitted from some aspect of their ministry while not endorsing it in its entirety.
Answers in Genesis was founded by Ken Ham in USA after Ken’s original links to early creation ministries in Australia. The organisation provides a wide range of materials including apologetic courses. The organisation runs Ark Encounters and a Creation Museum in USA. Warning: Ken is Calvinistic in theology and has publicly endorsed the Legacy Standard Bible based on corrupted manuscripts.
Apologetic Press provides a range of resources including video clips and apologetic courses. Warning: While anti-Calvinism, it promotes baptism as an essential requirement for salvation. This makes it a works-based salvation contrary to traditional evangelical theology.
Biblical Science Institute was founded by Jason Lisle who is a Christian astrophysicist who researches issues related to science and the Christian faith. Jason Lisle has also worked at Answers in Genesis, and the Institute for Creation Research.
Creation Ministries International is an off shoot of the original creation ministries in Australia.
Creation Research Institute has operated for more than 50 years researching scientific evidence that refutes evolutionary philosophy and confirms the Bible’s account of a recent and special creation. It was originally founded by Henry Morris and John Whitcomb. It operates the Creation Discovery Centre in USA.
Creation Research International was founded by John Mackay who is one of the early workers in creation ministries in Australia. I have personally benefitted from John’s insights and approach to Creation Science teaching. The organisation runs Jurassic Ark and the Creation Discovery Centre in Queensland, Australia, plus other museums.
Creation Today was founded by Eric Hovind in USA. The organisation connects with numerous creation science ministries and explains why it does not make a stand on 'secondary issues' in its statement of beliefs.
David Rives Ministries was founded by David Rives in USA. Claims on its website to be, “The most trusted name in Biblical scientific research, interfacing with nearly every top Christian organization in existence to distil and give you the true facts”.
Dinosaur Adventure Land was established by Kent Hovind. Warning: Kent Hovind has changed his theological stance from his original fundamentalist Independent Baptist perspective.
Is Genesis History? Originally focussed on film/documentary making using many different creation scientists.
Northwest Creation Network is run by Chris Ashcraft.
